About Amy Breen
Amy grew up in Philadelphia, attended college at the University of Virginia, medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and then completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford University.
When she took a hiatus from her work in the Emergency Department and moved to Barcelona with her young family, she kept her friends and family updated on the family’s adventures and quotidian happenings through a personal blog. The blog ignited a love of writing, and Amy found that, through writing, she was also able to process the challenges and highs and lows of her new life in Spain.
Upon return to the US, Amy used her musings and reflections in the blog to lay the foundation for her memoir, Tranquila.
Amy and her family continue to travel widely. They live in Northern California where Amy works in health advocacy.
